Hi Shane.

Well done for playing the game and getting out – all you need to do is apply the lessons from the game in real life.

I would suggest that the first thing you need to do is to create a financial statement detailing your own financial situation.  That is a great start point.

For this you could use a dedicated software program (like Microsoft Money) or an excel sheet.. or even use a piece of paper.

This is a great step to take and it forces you to take a hard look at your current situation.

Then once you have that down… why not start to work on your goals.

The law of attraction teaches us not to focus on how our goals and dreams will be achieved.. but just focus on them being real and having already achieved them.

So don’t worry about how you will achieve your goals… just spend lots of time visualise your goals as you having already achieved them.

This will cause the right opportunities to be presented to you… all you’ll have to do is take action!

To Summerise… Get your goals organised… and then visualise them being real like mad!

Once of the great tips to do this is to ask yourself this quesiton…

“How will I know when my goal has been realised” ?

Let me tell you a story of one of the guys at Sumansa…. He wanted to get an order form and make a sale… in fact he had two “hot prospects”.

So we spent sometime in our morning meeting working on “how he would know” that he got the order.

He realised that the best part of getting an order was updating our computer systems and moving the company from a status of “Prospect” to “Order form received”.

So we spent some time imaging that he was updating our computer systems. He saw himself make the change, and felt how it would feel.. he even heard himself talking to himself!

Well.. about 6:00 pm that evening I get a message from him .. he had received his order… WOW.

The amazing thing was that the order did not come from the 2 hot prospects he had… this was a 100% new order!

POWERFUL STUFF !  Talk about fast results!

You’ve no idea how the universe will come together to deliver the results you want. (In this case what we considered impossible happened!) .

So ask yourself “how will you know when you have received what you want” .. and then focus on that .. the universe will deliver the rest!

Why?

After learning more about how the mind works, and understanding how we think I’ve come to realise that to process “Impossible is only an opinion” in your mind you need to think about “Impossible”. Yikes!

It’s like saying “Don’t think of a pink elephant”… what did you think of ? A pink elephant right? (Now don’t think of a pink elephant marrying a purple gorilla… LOL… and especially don’t think about them having babies!)

So “Impossible” may be only an opinion… The words are right – but the mental images (or “movies”) these words create could be more powerful.

I’ve been a lot of attention to the relation between words and the movies (images, sounds and feelings) that are created in our minds… it’s fascinating.

Have you ever said “don’t spill the milk” ?

The Law of Attraction states that what you think about comes about… so when a child is carrying a glass of milk… and you say “Don’t spill the milk”… what’s the movie that’s playing in your mind?  What’s the movie that’s playing in the child’s mind? And then what happens to the milk… it’s gets spilt!

We’ve been utilising these insights in our marketing recently and with great effect!

Been travelling for two months and had a great time… but it’s good to be back.

Seems like everyone has moved houses / apartments in Dubai! (me too).

Well.. enough about property (more on that another time)

Here’s a quick question.. what’s been your biggest lesson in 2009?

let me tell you about mine….

I used to think that there were two kinds of mistakes…

1) A honest mistake (a spilled cup of milk)

2) Behavioural “mistakes” (like coming late for work everyday).

Honest mistakes were not a problem – It was the behavioural mistakes that got me… people would say “I’ll never come in late again”, and then for two days they would come on time… then they start coming late again.

I used to say that it was hard to change behaviour… but that’s all changed.

The lesson from 2009 for me has been learning that it’s EASY to change behaviour!

How? Well it’s all down to my discover of NLP… and how the brain actually works!

NLP is amazing stuff (too detailed to go into here).

This new “learning” has helped me and others…  I’ve always heard that “you” are not your behavioiur – but now it makes sense!

NLP is a fascinating way of understanding how we work, and how we achieve results!

If you’ve new to NLP – get yourself on a course! It’s the best thing I did in 2009!

Enough about me…. What’s been you’re biggest lesson of 2009?

Can one get a laon and use it as a deposit from a finance company in addition to a morgage issued by the bank to buy a property, or even start a property business?

i.e. based on the assumption that one doesn’t have enough money to put 25% deposit for the property

Hi Ei,

Thanks for the question.

Yes you can do that , borrow 25% as personal finance, and 75% as mortgage finance and buy a house, but the only thing you need to make sure of is that the cashflow from that property can pay for BOTH the mortgage and the personal loan.

For example, say you borrow 25,000 as a personal loan, where your payments are 400 a month, and your mortgage comes to 600 a month, then the rental income from the propery has to be more than 1000 a month to make a profit.

In practice your income should be more than 1000 as you have to factor in vacancies and maintenance etc.

My rule of thumb is that the income on any property needs to be DOUBLE the mortgage (or more).

If the property your looking at does not have rental income that covers both your payments, I would call it a bad deal!

Today we learn about words and the frequency they hold. The Universe responds to all words and frequencies, so when you talk about something you don’t like, the Universe starts responding (when was the last time you said “That’s bad” or “That’s terrible” or “Shocking” or “%$%$%$$#”?)

If you go through the daily lessons up until now, you’ll realise that it’s all Guuuuuuuuud, and you can be grateful for everything… all it requires is a change in thinking.

To quote…

“The law is impersonal, and simply matches your frequency. Do you see how important it is to speak strongly about what you want, and not to use strong words about what you don’t want?”

Now those of you who know me will know that I don’t subscribe to a “market downturn” of any kind.

The market just changed. (yes it’s as simple as that)

It’s only our knowledge of the past that determines how we look at the current situation. I mean if you were to wake up today after being asleep for 10 years.. would you say that things are bad?

No way.

There is so much opportunity out there right now… all you have to do is look… HOWEVER… the market has changed… so you can’t look in places where you used to look. There are new, more exciting places to find opportunity… and there’s so much opportunity (and so many places to look).

It’s a shame that our view of the past affects how we look at things today… but that’s the reality. People’s feelings affect everything.

We live in a world we we all allow our feelings to be controlled (much too often) by others. (Isn’t that crazy?).

However… we starting to see those feelings change…

Is it that people have just got fed up with feeling bad?

Is is that people have got used to feeling bad… and it’s no longer news worthy?

No idea.

But they are changing.

When our feelings change so does the world… the signs of change are everywhere. It’s happening one person at a time… one person saying “I’ll invest” or “things are not so bad”.

The next few years are going to be an amazing time… what will our new world look like?  what will the opportunities be? Where will you fit in?

As this great new time unfolds before our eyes, and you find your new place in this new world.. remember one thing… don’t get too comfortable, and like Hem in the story of “who moved my cheese” – keeping your running shoes tied around your neck.

You never know when it’s time to run and find new cheese.

“If you have “needing money” in your vibration, then you will keep attracting needing money. You have to find a way of being happy NOW, feeling good NOW, and being in joy NOW, without the money, becuase those great feeling are how you will feel with the money.

Money doesn’t bring happiness – but happiness brings money!”

That’s just such a great way of looking at it !

What’s the best way of being happy, feeling good and feeling joy?…  for me it’s listening to music and dancing around the room like no one is watching!  (Can you imagine that… LOL)

Thanks for the email Jeff…

You’re not the only person in this situation.

It’s important to understand that we all create our reality.  You have to remember that the formula

BE – DO – HAVE

…it’s always in effect.

The question you need to ask yourself is who are you being that is making you do things that have the result you are getting.

Now I am not saying that you boss is correct in shouting, but you have to analyse how you are reacting to this.  How are you being?

If you’re not happy with the situation you have to say so or take some action. Too many people go through life letting themselves be trampled on.

let me give you an example…If you hit a dog with a stick, and the dog wags it’s tail, the dog has just given you the message that it’s OK to hit it.  If the dog had turned around and bit you, then the message is clear “don’t hit me”.

We all teach others how to work with us… think about what message you giving others that keeps them shouting at you!

It’s hard I know… but rather than biting back… like you are doing .. move on.

Just a word of warning here…  changing your situation will not change your behaviours. If you find that this is a pattern in your life where your boss shouts at you then you really need to look inside of you and find out who are you being that is attracting this into your life.

Jeff, there are lessons in everything for us. Look for the lesson for you in this.

Try this experiment… close your eyes and do not think of a thought for 10 seconds.

Did you think of something?  I did!

If your mind cannot obey you and stop for 10 seconds, can you imagine the amount of thoughts that are being produced in one day?

Today we learn how we can change this…

“All it takes is practicing the process of not thinking a thought for 10 seconds. In a short amount of time you will be able to stop all thoughts for 10 seconds, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, and so on, until you are the one decides whether you will think a thought or not. The peace that comes when you are the master of your mind is indescribable, and along with that you will also be a master of the Law of Attraction. Imagine that!”

This process is now on my daily to do list.  Not sure I quite understand this… but I’m going to try it anyway

Roger Bannister marking the 50th anniversary of his record-breaking run

One of my favourite examples of this is Roger Banister!   Doctors told him his body would explode if he ran the mile in under 4 minutes! LOL

Well we all know he did that in 1954… and in just one year 37 other runners did too!

We’re so conditioned by our world that we think just because no one else has done it – we can’t!

Roger is a prime example of how “Impossible is ONLY an opinion”

“You are a transmission centre of the Universe, You are emitting a frequency to the Universe every second, and you are receiving transmissions back every second. To create what you want, you must telegraph your desire without breaking the transmission, and you do that by holding the knowledge that you desire is manifested.”

We learn that if we doubt or think about how we don’t have what we want we are in fact breaking the transmission.  The signal stops… but then a new signal takes it’s place… a signal of “not having”.  The Universe doesn’t notice that the signal has changed… it just goes to work getting you want you want. So when you think about not having what you want, the Universe delivers just that “not having”!

The solution?

“All you have to do is shift yourself back on to the frequency of having what you want, and the Universe can deliver it to you”.

Cool!

So the lesson is to think and focus on having what you want… think about how it’s yours RIGHT NOW…how does it feel… what does it look like?

You see… it already exists! Don’t worry about HOW it’s going to come about… as we learnt yesterday… THAT is NOT your problem.

Your “problem” is staying focused on what you want and thinking and feeling about having it now.

Very cool – what a great problem to have!

We’re guided to create this feeling as many times a day as we can, and soon, with practice, you we will be able to bring this feeling into our bodies virtually instantaneously.

You know when I ask someone “what do you want?”, and they say a “a new car” or “A new house” or “lots of money”.  I usually say “great… now once you have that what would you you want?”…  they usually think for a minute and come out with something else they would like.

Now, if you keep asking the same question (and it can take some time), the last answer they come up with is “I want to be happy”.

Now this is always GREAT.. because:

1) You can be happy now (as it’s a choice)
2) When you ask people what will make them happy – they say “helping others”… and you can do that now too

The greatest gift , and your ultimate “goal” are here right now for the taking.

So if your thoughts are “off frequency”… you won’t be getting the results you want!

That sounds pretty simple to me ! (in fact like a lot of fun).

I found this very useful… (From Goal Setting Guide)

Here’s the basic visualisation process. You’ll want to make whatever adjustments necessary to maximize the effectiveness of this technique. It will get easier each time you do it.

• First, find a quiet place away from distractions. Get into a comfortable position and relax your body. Take a number of slow, deep breaths. Release tension, concerns, and anxieties as you exhale. (They’ll be waiting for you when you’ve completed the exercise — if you still want them.) Clear the screen of your mind’s eye. See the number one (or any other non-emotive symbol) on your mind’s screen. Focus your attention on the number one. Allow other thoughts and feelings to dissipate.
• Next, allow the number one to fade out as you begin to visually create what it is you want to accomplish with this exercise. Visually create each figure, the scenery, the setting, filling your picture with the minutest details. Add vivid colours to your picture. Make the colours bright and dramatic. Once your picture is in technicolor, add the sounds that are associated with your picture. You might hear yourself saying words, others talking, birds singing, waves crashing, or balls bouncing. Once the volume is turned up, fill your picture with the aromas and tastes that are associated with it, such as the fragrance of flowers, salt in the ocean air. Add the sensation of touch. What does the picture feel like in the sense of textures and temperature? Is the hand you’re shaking warm and soft or rough and calloused? Now, enjoy the full picture you’ve created.
• Add the critical element to your visualization — your emotions. It’s the emotional element that expertly transfers your picture into your brain’s memory cells. With your picture in full array, add to it the emotions you want to feel when you find yourself in this situation. Whatever the emotions — pride, confidence, patience, gratitude, love — feel them fully. Allow your body to actually respond to the feelings associated with your picture. Smile, beam, gesture, whatever way you express your emotions. Hold your feelings in concert with your picture. Fully be in the picture you’ve created for yourself.
• Once you’ve held your picture strongly on your mind’s screen for a few minutes, let it fade gradually until you return to your focus symbol — the number one. Then commend yourself for using this tool for affecting change in your life.

As we look at the vision board, we are imprinting the picture of what we desire in our minds, and as we focus on our vision board it stimulates our senses and evokes a positive feeling within us. Then we have two elements of creation – your mind and your feelings working in full force.

WOW… and there is SOOOOO much to be grateful for!

I remember when we moved to India from the UK (I was 13) it was a shock that we only received water 1 hour a day.  I had got so used to opening the tap, and there being water. To get over this we needed to have a storage tank above our house.

Sometimes, during the summer, water wouldn’t come for days on end, and then it would come at odd hours (like the middle of the night), and I would remember my mum shouting “water” wherein we’d all jump into action and fill buckets!

My duty was to make sure the pump we had functioned correctly and got the water up to the storage tank. I remember sucking (yes sucking) on pipes to make sure that water got into the pump reached it’s destination.

Now… all I need to do is trun the tap    and yes… I am VERY grateful for that!

Thanks for the question Vineet…

You say “does not seem profitable”…  but that depends on your strategy. If you’re looking for long term growth, then the markets will turn, and we’ll see everyone go crazy again! (and then of course the markets will crash again).

if you’re a cashflow person – the markets could never of looked better!

So to answer your question it really does depend on your goals and what you invest in property for

One thing you can do is to calculate the “Opportunity Cost of your Money”, so if you’re got money in investment A, and investment B comes along that has a higher return, it could be advisable to move your money.

Remember – “equity growth investing” is a long terms strategy… what you do is course up to you

This is a bit like the “look for the gifts” lesson, but takes it one stage further.

The lesson talks about how most people keep the good away from themselves because they label something as “bad”, and of course, the more you focus on “bad” – that’s what you’re going to attract!

The lesson says

“There is no bad in the Universe; it is just our inability to see things clearly from the bigger perspective”

And then…

“Peace comes from knowing that good is all that exists”.

I like that .. “peace”… It makes sense… if there is only good … you must be at peace.

I always remember what I learnt at on the Landmark Forum…

“Life is empty and meaningless, and it’s empty and meaningless that it is empty and meaningless”

That’s pretty deep (and to understand it I recommend the attending the Landmark Forum), but what that means is that we as human beings give “meaning” to things. It’s only us who label things as “good and bad” when in reality … there only “IS” what happened.

What that boils down to is that it’s your choice what meaning you give to things.

Everything in life is a choice…  and even choosing not to choose – is still a choice!

It doesn’t work…  I was once told that about trying to change people was like pushing a rope…

You can’t!

Today’s lesson is about that and contains a quote from Christian D Larson’s book “Mastery of Self” (1907)

“Never try to compel other to change; leave them free to change naturally and orderly because they want to; and they will want to when they find that your change was worthwhile.

“To inspire in others a desire to change for the better is truly noble; but this you can do only by leaving them alone, and becoming more noble yourself.”

So how do you move a rope?

To change others… you need to change first!

I think that this is so much in line with being grateful. If you’re ranting and raving at your current circumstances (or car).. then all you’re doing is attracting more of that to you!

Appreciate and be grateful for everything, release the negative feelings and start focusing on what you do want!

WOW… I can remember times when that sounded strange to me…  “Give it away?”  – I can hardly pay my bills… and I’m supposed to give it away?

I did a bit of digging as to why tithing works.. and found this interesting article at forbes.com

“… Another enthusiastic tither is Greg Gianforte, the founder, chairman and CEO of RightNow Technologies. Gianforte started this Web services company in 1997 in the spare bedroom of his Bozeman, Mont. home and has grown it to $40 million in sales. RightNow went public on NASDAQ last year, becoming Montana’s first tech startup to do so.

Gianforte is quick to say that tithing is a duty of his faith. One must never tithe with expectations of divine reward. But, funny, Gianforte says, now that you mention it, tithing has brought these benefits:

“The decibel level in my life has gone down. I think that’s because every possession speaks to you. Everything you own wants attention. When I began to tithe, I found a freedom from my possessions. I don’t hold on to things as tightly anymore.”

“When you loosen your grip on possessions, you become more willing to take a chance. Entrepreneurial risk is less terrifying.”

“Tithing requires discipline, but that discipline begins to show up unexpectedly in other areas of my life. When I began to tithe, I was able to rise earlier in the morning. I am more patient with people.”

At this point I recalled a chat I once had with Gianforte while researching my book, Life 2.0. When Gianforte started RightNow, the first thing he did, with no employees and no product to sell, was print up a data sheet and mail it to the heads of customer service at hundreds of large companies. Then he got on the phone and asked his would-be customers what they liked and didn’t like about the data sheet. By listening to their needs, Gianforte was cleverly combining R&D and selling–on the cheap.

I bring this up, and Gianforte laughs.

Now lets apply that to the media, and their interpretation of what is “news”.

The media today is full of stories that are not really positive.

We hear of things that we don’t like… and then we talk about them with friends, think about them, sometimes get angry about them.. and the result.. we’re helping create more of it!

Some people start “anti” campaigns like “stop drugs” or “fight terrorism”.. and guess what… they’re just helping create more of the thing they fight.

So do yourself a favour and stop reading / watching the news!  I mean… do you really need to know?

Instead – find something positive to focus on… something that you would want in you life

No news is good news! (well from the media’s point of view anyway)

This reminds me of a small Island called “Isla de Rosario” – a island off the coast of Colombia (South America) – the sea water is so salty that (like the dead sea) you can float with zero effort.

I remember the Island well, the water is clear, and you can see the fish swimming around you. The sun was bright, the sky clear, and  cool sea breeze made it perfect!

Isabel and I floated for almost two days… (I then floated in Aloe Vera gel to ease the sun burn!.. LOL)

It was a great time, and just thinking about it now… I feel relaxed.

Not sure I understand this 100%.

What  I do understand is that to get anything in life you have to ask.

Kids know this – they have to ask, but somewhere along we lose that ability to ask! Maybe it’s because we don’t have anyone to ask, or maybe we think we have all the answers.

Whatever the reasons, I know that one of the reasons for my success, and what I always encourage people to do is ask for what you want.

if you don’t have what you want, you have to ask someone who has want you want!

In fact, in marketing, two words that can invoke a response are “tell me”.

People, on the whole, love sharing and helping others, and from my expereince, everyone is unique, and can add to your life (in so many ways)… if only you would ask!

So tell me, when was the last time you asked for something?

It’s pretty scary to think that that was said over 100 years ago!

I think the quote says it all!

Pick up a pen, and then drop it. Now, let me ask you a question… “Did the pen fall when you dropped it?”

Yes I’m sure it did!

How ca I be so sure?

Because the law of gravity was in effect .. it worked and the pen dropped.. it did not hang there in the air.

I don’t care how many times you try it… you’ll get the same result. The pen will always drop. That’s because it’s a law.

The Law of Attraction is the same.

It never stops working… and it always is working… it’s a law!

So.. now for the scary (and GREAT ) part…

“You are either attracting what you want or you are attracting the absence of what you want… The Law is still working”.

As I learnt a few days ago.. this is a magnificient system!

Those who know will will know that one word I’m passionate about is “ACTION” – You can get all the knowledge in the world… learn everything there is to know.. but if you don’t use that knowledge it’s 100% useless.

Who would do that?

LOL!

We all have at some point! (I know I have!)… I guess it’s human nature! (KUTB time).

The lesson talks about the fact that as you persist with the law of attraction you will become aware of the words people speak especially when they speak of things they don’t want.. (remember the movie with the guy getting bills?).

It also says

“You will become so aware of the words that you speak”

Is this spooky or what?

I mean just today I was telling Isabel (my partner), how, over these last few days, I managed to see how much “stinking thinking” I had in my head…and I never realised! (I’m so grateful for these daily lessons… they are helping me so much!)

I’m looking forward to the rest of this journey… it’s going to be great!

The lesson goes on to describe the relaxation process, which involves relaxing your whole body, then relaxing some more, the relax it some more, and repeating the process 7 times.

After you’ve finished you should notice that you feel different…

Sounds Cool. So I tried it….

You know, I did feel different… you should try it

Over the last 10 days – I’ve been feeling more relaxed overall… it’s a good feeling. I’m smiling more and  I feel more in control, and more at ease with everything. You could say “more connected”.

This exercise seems quick to do and I’m sure can be used anywhere. I know where I need it the most… It’s in traffic!

In all of the 6,760,000,000+  people that live on our planet, everyone is unique. You’re Unique!

You might be feeling a little insignificant… however today we learn that…

“your very existence is vital to the functioning of our Universe….

All that you see, and all that there is could not exist without you!”

(I’d like to add a little spin to that – I’ve been realising recently that everyone else is unique too ! …and the people around me are magnificent people too - who have much more to offer than what I gave them credit for!)

So you’re unique… what does that mean?

Well I think it has to do with your contribution..  your unique make up means that what you can give… will be unique as well!

Let me tell you a story.

Recently I was thinking about doing a new workshop, I was half for it, and half against. I was in the process of “ummm”ing and “errrrr”ing when I received an email about a similar workshop (in another country) being presented by a world famous speaker.

I can tell you - I didn’t feel very good. I was like “what the hell… what’s the point?”

and then my partner, Isabel, got up and said… “no you’re not that speaker… you’re Sunil Jaiswal”

WOW

It hit me light a bolt of lightning and made me realise that I do have a lot to offer…. (A big thanks to Isabel for making me feel Unique!)

So what’s the moral of the story?

Well, even if you think you don’t have anything unique to offer… YOU DO ... because even if you’re doing something that someone else is doing … you’ll be doing it in your own way.

You’re Unique! …. That’s amazing!

Now what’s inside of you is down to your past experiences, choices – because those turn you into who you are, and ultimately how you think.

Now you could be in a situation where your life is not 100% as you would like it, and to take responsibility for that (because you attracted it to you), can be a bitter pill to swallow!

Well, to be honest, for me it was quite scary!

I felt like that was a lot of responsibility to take on! (and be honest wasn’t too happy about the way things worked!  LOL)

In today lesson, the author  referred to this system as “magnificent” and that was a bit of a shock!

But it’s so right! It is magnificent… because the greatest FACT is… with this system…. YOU can change your world.

WOW.

…that isn’t just magnificent – it’s Freaking Awesome!

“unfathomable”… WOW, I like that word! sounds good so far

I’ve had some personal experience with this – it’s the “Attitude of Gratitude”.

Based on the lessons so far… Being thankful also helps you accept everything as a gift, and that has to be a good thing

But I think the most important part of today’s lesson is the “sincerely felt” part… we’re back to feelings again!  When you say “Thank You”… feel it… especially when you say it aloud to another person ( they’ll feel it too).

So my motto for today is not just to say “thank you” but to feel grateful too!
